    Cedar smokehouse construction

    Cedar should not be used for fireplace or wood stove due to the poisonous nature of the cedar oils. Those oils make it ideal for storing clothes, since it protects from bugs. Why is cedar being used for a smokehouse? Won't the oils also contaminate the food?
