First smoked turkey in the smoker

Not on electric. Just a simple offset. It's been about 2.5 hours now. Looking good. Was running about 250 for the first hour, then bumped it up . Running close to 300 now. Skin feels like it's beginning to crisp up.

Awesome turkey! Mine is going to turn out with skin about that dark too. We are doing t-giving on Friday with the in laws, so I'm smoking the turkey tonight. Hope it comes out somewhere as close to as good as yours looks!

Very nice. Going to enjoy a glass myself in a bit. We don't do T-giving until Friday, so the turkey will go into brine tomorrow. Good luck and enjoy the drink!

    Independence Day BBQ

Looks great Hickorybutt.  My brisket went on at 4:30 am.  Got some pork loin going on this afternoon.  Keep us updated.  What size brisket did you use?

    Newbie

Hey everyone! I'm fairly new to smoking. I've had some experience in the past doing some different meats in the past, but bought my first "starter" smoker in april. It's a Brinkman off-set smoker. I live just outside Austin, TX and love all things BBQ. I naturally lean toward believing that...
