I just came back from our local sams club. They were completely sold out of all chicken (whole birds and breasts) they did have 3 packages of wings so I grabbed 1 of them. Also, they were completely out of Eggs and Paper products. People...
Not sure if there is a one stop solution. I have used a Weber Genesis EP 310 and a MES for the last 8 years, just picked up a performer last week, and I could do most style cooks.
On a smaller deck an easy / clean solution would be a nice Propane Grill, do the mod to seal the lid with Fire...

I am a recent Kettle / Vortex owner. I heard that the chicken is excellent using the Vortex. I found many pictures videos and tutorials on wings but, nothing on a whole bird. I was wondering do you invert the vortex and place the bird...

This thing looks great. I saw it at my local Sams Club. I was torn between this and a Weber Performer Deluxe. I almost pulled the trigger but ended up with the Performer. I am Looking forward to hearing folk's thoughts once they fire it up, it sure is impressive to see.

Thanks for the info on the Vortex. I might have to bump that up on my list. :-) My wife loves grilled chicken. I think that may be on the menu this weekend. If I have the time I'll be sure to post pictures.
Looks great. Never tried a blow torch. I have been tossing my lodge Cast Iron on my gasser adding a little clarified butter, Ghee, and have been having great results. This is much simpler, I'll have to give it a try. Always learning something here. Thanks for the idea.

Sounds like a great deal from a company that supports SMF. I am in the market my maverick needs probes and is getting a little long in the tooth. The inkbird is on my short list. Still need to sit down and do some homework before I pull the trigger on one.
