    HomeMade Dog Food

Thanks Dan for the thoughtful reply. I did quite a bit of digging into recipes and wound up where I am though I had never heard of adding yeast into her diet. There's a lot of yeast types and I've found zero out there on details. As it is, she is 65 pounds and my vet said that water intake is...

    Shotguns! Can We Chat?!

When my son was 10 I got him a Beretta 391 "youth" which worked pretty good for him. Unfortunately I think they're no longer made and most other shotguns do not work well on a youth's body type unless they're large.

Selling a pistol, not so easy...Thoughts

I've bought a number of firearms on Gunbroker and unless the seller is local to me in South Florida where I can do a face to face transaction I ONLY buy from a FFL dealer. The gunshow route or if you have a local online selling route those are the best options.

    What are you watching ?

I have not had cable or satellite in over 20 years. When I "pulled the plug" I spent the equivalent monthly fees of cable in DVD/Blu Ray and now have 3000+ samples. Kids, crime, adventure, toons, comedy, series, military, SciFi, nature, PBS, you name it I have it. At my age (74) I can see one...

    HomeMade Dog Food

My Lab/Pit mix has chronic kidney disease (ckd) and to supplement the $$ special canned kidney dog food I make her boiled white meat chicken (sometimes added beef or pork), carrots, zucchini, sweet peppers, green beans, squash and some white rice. Her ckd has not advanced much in 2 years and...

    Stainless smoker

Yes so far. The SS water and charcoal bowls clean up in a snap, it's solid and at its price point is surprisingly well made. Though at some point in the "chilly" :-) south Florida winters I may need to mod the dual vent system to a single. I don't think it will be a good choice for colder climes.

    Pickled Eggs

I read quite a bit on re-using brine, it seems to be a common practice. I'll reuse it only once though.

    Stainless smoker

Well, it's been a long time since I had a smoker like this, but my first few sessions reminded me that without a grate below the charcoal can get smothered by ash.

    Pickled Eggs

I just made another batch this morning. I reused the brine from the previous batch.

    Pickled Eggs

This thread had my mouth watering so we pickled a dozen last Sunday and I ordered a jar of McCormick pickling spices to play with and it came in today. The problem with it there were HUNDREDS of cloves in it and of all the things in the world I did not expect was a couple of hundred cloves... I...

    Stainless smoker

Crazzy you are correct, more steel means less resistance to rust. I received it this morning and the only parts that a magnet will stick to are the grills. This is made of marine quality stainless. Very happy with it AND it's made in the U.S.A!!! Way to go Meco corp!

    Mulberry as a smoke wood

Thanks all. It seems as if many use it without issues from the latex but I'll skin it before using it anyway.
