Looks nice! Are those aluminum angle irons for your self bracket? How are you anchoring the dowels? I opted to go with dowels on my build as well and I'm cutting slits into the ends of the dowels so I can slide them onto the angle. May I ask what gauge and how much that stainless cost you? ...
Thanks!
Yeah, the material on the sides around the door is the same fiber-plastic stuff. I'm opting to leave it be and put the gasket material really close to the edge so it won't be in the "oven" side of the heat. I hope the dryer vent I bought isn't galvanized. It seems stronger than...
A few googles have told me that chromium poisoning is a thing that happens to factory workers, I couldn't find anything about cooking with it. Don't they make chrome plated BBQ grills? What about galvanized, or zinc, or aluminum? Are they dangerous when used in cooking? I'm using all three...
Here's where I'm at:
2" hole that sucked to drill. Should I used high temp silicone and glue around the hole? Or just leave it?
3" vent pipe, running horizontally out the back with the intake in the top middle of the indoor space. How should I fill the space between the pipe and wall? ...
Thanks so much for the pics and explanation! Pics coming in a day or two (I know people say that all the time, but I will follow through), I made some major progress today! Finally got a 2" hole saw through the enamel/steel to get my element in place. I also drilled and cut through the back...
I can't link to the source because of the no-link policy here, but I found a bullet making forum (they use these things to melt lead too) where a guy was in touch with MYPIN and got this response:'
I have been in touch with Mypin recently.
They are a little 'embarrassed'. In fact they won't...
I would not recommend this unit. I will likely be returning mine. It is reading 16 degrees too cold and there is not way to add to the offset, only to subtract. They admitted it's a bug in the software that they forgot to add addition functionality.
Thanks so much Josh! We do have very similar fridges. I hope mine is as nice as yours when I'm done. If you could take a picture of your intake and muffin fan it would really help me out, I'm struggling with how/where to put the holes. I'm also curious about your shelves, what material is...
The guy at the hardware store said over 350F as I cited that as what would be required (erring on the side of caution). Perhaps the stuff he gave me is rated for higher temp because he said it's used for outdoor wood fired furnace exhausts. I'll have to dig into this a bit more. I got a good...
I'm still looking for answers to the above questions. I bought a short run of 3" PVC for my smoke stack, I hope it will work. I got my castors on. The are 5" hard rubber, I bought them on amazon for around $45 for the set of 4. I bolted them into the bottom frame of the fridge using self...
