Wow! thanks for resurrecting this thread! I am sure my friend who first made it for us just did 2 tsp but even that seems like quite a bit. Would love to hear what you decide is optimal because it really was good!
I printed a box for storage of the RFX if anyone has a 3d printer and would like one, here is the link on printables

In oven held at 150-170 for 11 hours. Came off smoker at 190 deg in the point. Butcher paper wrapped, pan with some water then sealed over with foil. Too long and too much heat and time required for a cooler. I used to try to time perfectly to probe tender with not more than 5 hours in...
Cook continues in oven because I could not get the billows to run hot enough.one probe shut down at 12 hours. The other is still in meat showing 20%. I replaced the batteries in the chargers this morning as a first step. Changed to 2 degree setting on the one that is still alive. Had to dust off...
After having had great experience, I just had the fun of an overnight brisket smoke filled with alarms and anxiety.....both probes have lasted about 11 hours before throwing battery alarms. One was at 60% after 2 hours. They came out of the chargers at the same time after multiple days of...
Agree on all your points. The app closing when backing out, I told them was not normal behaviour. Also each device having a session to close is wacky. And seeing pit and probe curves at the same time is a basic expectation. Going to settings to see battery is odd.
Well I am 3 cooks into this new setup including billows and its impressive. I have done some WSM smokes as well as last night asked my kettle to stay at 130 for 1.5 hours for reverse sear smoked strip loins.....and it handled everything flawlessly. It puts the flame boss and meaters in a solid...
My testing experience....just got all the stuff and won't be doing a smoke until I am comfortable with everything. Prior a flameboss and meater user. Flameboss fan on a battery. Figured I would try running a more integrated system and being a Thermoworks thermapen junky, this made sense...
Also keep in mind that it is a VERY tiny amount of data by internet connection and bandwidth standards of the day so cloud posting of the same values may seem simultaneous.
It would be odd if "cloud" were used for anything other than remote viewing or connection to control when far from the gateway. When local to the devices like when actively working the cook, I would think / hope that data goes probe to gateway to mobile device.
