    oklahoma joe's smoker?

Well Tim, I'd would start by looking at how you have your dampers set up. Basically, your far end damper will control your airflow which in turn, controls your temp. Leave the far end damper full open and control the temps with the firebox damper. Next, get a heat baffle plate. This will...

    THE PERFECT SMOKER ??

Just like any other tool, a smoker is only as good as the person using it. And what's the best way to get really good? Practice, practice, practice since as we all know, experience is the best teacher. Smoke On!

Spring cleaning - Power washing the Longhorn..

Today was the day. I cleaned as much of the creosote as I could get out of the OKJ. I used Easy Off oven cleaner to loosen the grease and creosote. Spring cleaning - Power washing the Longhorn..

Its time. I've had the OKJ now for about 2 years and I've noticed a creosote build up on the dome in the smoking chamber.I also noticed a build up of grease on the heat baffle as well so I think its time to give the Longhorn a good bath.  I'll be using a 2800psi power washer and the most...

    Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn Smoker Mods

You won't know it until you see it during a smoke. Usually you can spot the leaks when you "season" the smoker. I just added the felt gasket from the Large BGE to the cooking chamber. I put it on the chamber instead of the door using weatherstrip adhesive as I did have leakage around the door...

Brinkmann Smoke N Pit low temps, too much charcoal

Yeah, Sparkie is right. My stack comes out the side just like in the picture he showed. You could always try getting it to stay by using friction. That is, buy the sleeve just a bit larger than the diameter of your smoke stack. Since they're aluminum, you should be able to crunch one end of your...
