    First smoker build question

Will an oven element fit inside the diameter of the tank? depending on the shape of the element, you could probably drill some hole for the leads to come out and a wire bracket to support it on the inside -OR- You can buy unbent straight but bendable elements in the "green" form where the...

    Hot Cart Build

Where is the air intake? The stack could be drawing more draft and bringing in cooler air too fast. How many cubic feet is your unit? 1200w for that large of a space (judging by your picture) isn't enough from what I've seen. It will be way easier to get it up to temp if you had more wattage...

RTD PT100 probes for Auber PID's

I talked with Auber. A  longer 5" probe that's a skinny 1/8" diameter is good for air temp. If you want use a thicker one, make sure it is shorter. It takes air longer to change the temperature on a sensor with more mass/metal if that makes sense.

Intake and exhaust sizes on electric smokers

Ended up doing a combination of everything. 3"OD 14ga aluminized exhaust pipe. It has a long swooping curve, the bottom 1" has no bend/elbow. It has a slight lip near the opening, and angles back slightly so any built up creosote condensation should not drip onto the food. I driled my rear hole...
