Cliff,
Are you still using the Camp Chef? Post is from a few years ago, but just reading it now. Plan on getting a Pellet smoker over the next three weeks and was curious to how you felt now.
Yes. Just seeing this now and it's too late. I did a round roast and it is pretty bad to say the least. Think I'll stick to the fattier meats for now: pork butt, brisket, etc.
I think I made a second big time rookie mistake. When you add coals to the offset, do you just throw them in or...
Has anyone tried smoking one of these, or even a chuck roast?
I am debating on whether to smoke on or put it on the rotisserie on the gas grill.
I ask about the chuck because they are pretty tough, but tasty. I was wondering how smoking one might be. Nearly everything I see on here in the...
I once worked at a meat packing facility and was told that beef can be graded 8 ways and at least the top two grades with one of five yields:
1. Prime

Thanks. That sounds great. I intend to do another one in the next couple of weeks. I have four more in the freezer. Even with the screw up the meat was some of the most flavorful I've ever had. I don't take credit for that because everything (rub, injection, mop) was someone else's recipe...
Joe,
I didn't wrap it! Since then I've read a few people say that you should wrap it the last three or four hours. The next one I do, I am going to try that. All and all though it was delicious!
I've been reading up on a few different ones, including those mentioned here. The one that seems reasonable and has some nice features (easy to clean) and in the same price range is the Camp Chef Pellet Grill: SmokePro DLX P24. I would prefer their SmokePro Lux PG36LUX but that's a bit pricey...
I am originally from NJ, but have spent the last seven years in NC, specifically Youngsville, NC just twenty miles north of Raleigh.
I fell in love with Pulled Pork. I could eat a Pulled Pork Sandwich with Cole Slaw every day of the week. Anyway I was never much of a barbecuer other than...
