Summertime i like an amber type beer overall. I will drink a darker beer however. I'm not a fan of SA summer ale, Blue Moon, Shock Top, etc. I'd rather have a Bud Black Crown, SA Light, Molson, Moosehead,etc.
Depends on the time of year for me. I'm not an IPA guy at all, way to bitter for me. I'm probably most fond of amber types overall but do enjoy a good stout/porter in the winter. Here are some i like:

I have one of those and after some reading different places i'm anal about bringing it inside my covered porch on when rain is in the forecast. Had 3 smokes so far, butt and ribs, no problems. Hope you get it straightened out.
You can put any hot sauce or other seasoning in it you want. I use a little Texas pete hot sauce in mine. IMO its good without any seasoning/hot sauce. Most typical NC sauces, which this is, don't add that part.
