    Thanks G-Rod. After researching this issue I think I'm going to go with the Savannah Stoker also. It's unfortunate that we should have to upgrade a new grill ... but even so, I think the PitBoss is a bargain. I'll let you know how it goes when I install it. Maybe I'll try a vid .... or at least...

    Hey G-Rod, thanks for starting this thread. I have a question on the PID upgrade. I have a 700FB also and I'm wondering how it works. My Pit Boss has a heck of a time keeping temperature. Does the upgrade help with that? Was there any problem with the installation? I know that they say it works...

    Thanks airmec, good advice. The auger speed timing suggestion was a forehead slapper. I should have figured that one out on my own :)

    Hi everyone. I am a new member from Canada ... the western province of British Columbia. I am in a mountainous area and we get some pretty snowy and cold winters here. I don't stop grilling during the winter season but I sure have to adjust temps and times. I have been grilling for all my life...

    Hi everyone. New forum member here and first post. As the title says, I'm considering a controller upgrade to my 700FB. I'm tired of the wild temperature swings on the stock controller. Right now I'm doing a pulled pork at 225 but my remote monitor is telling me that the temps are swinging...
