most probably too much smoke. Mesquite has a strong smoke profile. always look for that thin blue smoke and avoid thick white smoke.

Sampaloc, Santol, Acacia, Caimito, Coffee are just some of what you can find in your area. Salt, Pepper and Garlic powder is your basic go to for BBQ its up to you to add your preferred taste or aromatics.
I have not tried Jackfruit but I have seen people from Thailand to use them often. I would like to try them out some time if I get the chance but right now they are difficult to source in Metro Manila. Im sticking to Oak, Santol, Sampaloc, Acacia, Caimito logs from locality and chips of Cherry...
There is plenty of local fruit trees to choose from just make sure it is a hardwood because they last longer. The trick is to have them properly dried and seasoned to avoid dirty smoke and an easier time in fire management. To name a few, if you have access to Acacia (similar profile to...
