The are, But the galvanized coating was first ground off and then burned to about 600 degrees, From all that I have read it is safe to use if the galvanized coatings are removed.
Yeah this is a big project to take on for someone who:
1. Had never built a RF Smoker.
2. Has extremely Limited welding skills.
3. Pulling everyhting from a pile of junk material ( actually I think that part is kinda cool myself)
