It's just two pieces of expanded metal, each bent into a "U", and then you sit one on top of the other offset so you have a double thickness bottom, and 4 sides. Set your MIG Welder very low and make a few small welds on each of the 4 corners and also on the bottom to hold everything together. The basket can be used just like that in an offset burner's firebox as a regular charcoal/wood basket, and works great. Then you can make a second basket just like the first one but with two solid sheet steel baffles to form a labyrinth for slower/longer burns filling it first with cold briquets and wood chunks, and then starting it going with a dozen hot coals from your Weber chimney on one end of the labyrinth. That fire will work its way slowly thru the labyrinth over a number of hours for a low and slow cook.
