Here is where this story started

I found a Kettle lid at Big Lots for $29.99. Since it's so "economically" made, the kettle bottom has the same intake as the lid does for the exhaust.

Anyhow, I decided to use the bottom of the kettle as the lid since it offers so much space compared to the lid it comes with.

Only problem was that there was no handle, and I dislike how my wal-mart uniflame lid has the handle on the front (meant to be hinged).

Since the exhaust is directly at the top of the lid, i couldn't center a handle over it, and anything else would be an awkward location as far as practically handling the lid. Later, Mrs. ThunderDome came in the garage and said "why dont you make one that falls over when it's not being used and it won't get grimey from the exhaust below". So I said 'yeah, that's what I was gonna do anyways..I already thougth of that [IMG]"

Here is what I came up with. A couple Eye Bolts, a spacer off of a Monosem planter as the grip, and the handle/bard off of plastic 5 gallon drum..now my Kettle Bottom-Lid has a handle

    Here it is laying down
