Here I go with another tangy and spicy slaw, this one has more bite than my Whup@$$ Coleslaw.
Not quite as creamy either as I really want the cilantro to stand out.
A healthy addition of fresh Jalapeno or Serrano chile adds that extra heat.

Spicy Cilantro Lime Slaw

In a large mixing bowl combine the following.
1lb of bagged slaw mix (yeah I cheated) or 1 large head of Green cabbage cut for slaw
1 bunch of green onions, greens and all chopped thin
1 or 2 large Jalapeno or Serrano chile, quartered and sliced thin
(Use whatever chile you like that brings the heat)
2/3 -1 bunch of Cilantro, cut the bottom stalks off, then chop the rest coarsely.
The zest of of 1 large Lime
The juice of 2 large Limes

In a medium mixing bowl combine the following.
3/4C Sour Cream
1/2C Mayonnaise
3T sugar
1t-2t cayenne pepper, depending on your heat tolerance
2t Kosher salt

Add kosher salt, sugar and cayenne to suite your taste

Combine the two together and mix well.
Refrigerate overnight to let the flavors meld.

Man that looks delicious!
We make the same slaw all the time, it's real good, but I need a change & this looks like a good recipe.
So the next time I make slaw, I'll give it a whirl!

Family had this today with lunch, everyone liked it, and it was very good after overnighting in the fridge.
It was spicier than when first made, that cayenne and chile had time to let their capsaicin infuse the slaw.
Next time I will use 3T of sugar, as it could stand a little more sweetness.
***Recipe modified to use 3T of sugar.
