I recently got the Maverick 733 thermometer. I'm concerned about the clearance (or lack thereof) through the closed doors of my Lyfe Tyme trailer smoker. There is about a half an inch door flange overlap and the overlap flange rests quite snugly against the body of the smoker. I'm afraid that the probe cable is going to be subjected to severe pressure.
The weight of the doors on the horizontal tube is significant. And the door on the verticle tube has a stout sliding latch that keeps the door tightly sealed.
I am considering drilling holes for probe access into the smoker. Has anyone done this?
Is this doable or an idea that should never have been thought of?
Many thanks.
