I have an opportunity of getting a Primo "Big Black Egg" which hasn't been used for a couple of years. It was only used once for a cooking demonstration and wasn't cleaned out after the demo. The old charcoal ashes and stale drippings were left in it and now it has a strange odor due to this neglect.

My question is if I clean the interior grates with hot soap and water along with a clean charcoal "burnout" will that eliminate the lingering odor?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Thanks PerazziMx14,

I used a Franchi 2400 when I competed.

Anyway, thanks, I suspected it was that simple but wanted to check with someone who had experience with these ceramic eggs.

Thanks again,

John
