i am having i party this coming weekend. i am doing 6 racks of ribs but only 2 racks of baby backs. the baby backs are for the kids. What are some good sweet rubs i can use just for the kids. Nothing hot or spicy. Thanks for y'alls help.
This too sounds GREAT......and damn those ribs look delicious.
What I've started doing is cutting down the sugar in the rub, then adding turbinado sugar to the meat after it is rubbed to match folk's sweetness desire. It is actually fun to add the turbinado sugar at the end too, after they are sauced and finished. The raw sugar crystals kind of explode in your mouth with crunchy sweetness. I bet the kids would LOVE that! Pic below.

Triple this recipe for a full shaker. Even though there is pepper in it, there is very little heat in the rub.

1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp New Mexico chili powder
1/8 tsp mustard powder
Directions
1. Throw all ingredients in a blender and blend until the peppercorns are broken up.
