How hot is the smoker fire have you shot it with a therm? Be neat to see wood burning at a couple hundred degree’ place it on a brick to keep the heat down then don’t worry

Haven't really heated it.

You can't see it, but the tray is sitting on some scrap ceramic tile to keep it off the metal.
