Hello All, I have been lurking here on the forums for a week or so and I decided I should introduce myself and thank everyone out there for all the incredible information and helpful tips. I got a Char Griller with the Side Fire Box for my birthday. We got it assembled, did a couple of mods that I found on here (extending the chimney, adding bricks for tuning plates, flippinng the lower rack for a baffle and adding a cheap improvised charcoal basket). I have a pork shoulder on now, sorry I totally forgot about the Q-View but I will try to figure out the picture thing. Thanks all for the great tips and info!

Welcome Loco!  Lots to learn here, I know my family sure is happy with what I have learned!  (other than the cool homemade smokers that get posted and give me new ideas... my wife does not like those so much :)

Welcome to the forum. The Char-griller is a nice way to get your feat wet and learn how to maintain fires and what not - I had the Smokin'-Pro for about a year and produced some good que with it.

First off Welcome Loco to SMF. you'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.
