I read Wingmans post http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...ad.php?t=93780

Sounded good! I bought two excellent chuckies that the butcher cut for me. I injected them with AuJus, rubbed them and smoked them at 230F over pecan. it took 14 hours, but late last night they hit 205F. Pulled them and placed in cooler with towels. While they rested I mixed up a sauce using 16 oz of Sweet Baby Rays and Dr. Pepper, and three generous TB of brown sugar. Simmered it some more while the meat continued to rest.
The meat pulled very easily, and into the crockpot it went. I stirred in the sauce mixtuer, set the crockpot to low, and went to bed. This morning the smell was WONDERFUL! And the taste?? OH YEAH!!!!

And the finished product:

That looks awesome! I gotta tell you, I have seen a lot on this forum and learned a lot too. This is another one on my to-do list. Awesome!

Holy smokes, that looks freakin' awesome! Interesting sauce - Dr. Pepper - good idea. After doing the beer can chickens last week I thought that the next time I would try Dr. Pepper can chicken, or Root Beer can chicken. Well, how did the sauce taste?

Also, gotta love the Pecan wood. One of my favorite smoking woods. I usually do a 50/50 mix of pecan and apple, or pecan and cherry.

Job well done, sir.

That looks awesome. I got mine in the crock pot right now. The sauce is surprisingly good. I used regular Dr. Pepper though.

LOL... One day I will own a Big Dog chopper. But that will be after a Honda VFR 1200. Until the I will do my best to continue to think like I own one. LOL
