Thread Starter
Ok, I am so not new, I have been readin for a long time and learnin so much. I am a wimp when it comes to smokin, I use a Brinkman plug in thingy. Oh yeah electric no fus no mus. I feel so not worthy, after lookin at all ya'lls wonders. But, it came down to this, I love smoke meats and love BBQ stuff, my dear husband does too. But, you see he works like a mad man at his job and then has a hobby of LBCs (Little British sports Cars) we have 13 of them. I would ask him to smoke or BBQ & he'd say yeah that sounds good and nothin. So I had to step up. I want to thank you all for such inspiration & the outcome has been so good. Today I have a porkloin soakin from a recipe I saw that NOLA Saints Smoker posted. Of coarse a cabbage this time with the bacon. And I have just perfected my BBQ shrimp recipe. I will share that after I make sure it works. Happy Mothers Day to me. yougottaloveit.
Thanks again to all of you
Abbeville, La.

Welcome aboard.

There is no reason to feel unworthy, as long as you enjoy smoking, and you enjoy the eating.biggrin.gif

The equipment is secondary to the results.

Everyone here enjoys seeing the Qview so be sure to post plenty of pics...

Large ones that us old people with bad eyes can see.

First off welcome Menda to SMF. It's really nice to get more and more women smokers here so an extra welcome form the east coast of FLa. Now you said that you just completed your bar-b-q shrimp recipe.. Would you want to share that with an OTBS member who's been working on a good recipe for years and I have used some recipes I got in New Orleans and their not that good but..... Please for an old fat guy that loves to eat. You'll like it here cause there are a bunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new perspective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little different to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.
Here's a link to photobucket it's free and easy to download pictures. Then if your really new to smoking Look up the E-course.
It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.
Welcome To Your New Addiction
