Hello
Hello, my name is Patrick
I too am from Ontario and I recently discovered this site while looking for smoker build info. At 55, I have been grilling and, to some extent smoking, for many years. I used to have a very large mobile pig cooker that saw plenty of use (open flame style).
I have renewed my interest in smoking meat and I am going to build a reverse flow smoker this summer.
I will begin by building one from a 100# propane tank. This will be my prototype. Once I have the bugs worked out, and I am satisfied with the look and performance of the "Patio Smoker", I will start the real deal.
I have two tanks. One is 7.5ft X 3ft, and the other is a little smaller. I intend to use the larger tank for a trailer mounted smoker.
My buddy is in tool and die manufacturing, so we have full access to all the equipment and nohow for the build. It may take some time as we intend to make a very unique and multifunctional cooker for all occasions.
Believe me, I will be here begging for info and keeping you up on the details and progress as we go.
Thanks
