Went to my local Sam's Club on 3-5-10 to check out
and hopefully purchase a 40" smoker with the 1,200
watt element. Well... to my surprise they had none
and when the sales person looked them up online, it
showed none! I got my hopes up reading all these
posts about the good deal at Sam's and the 3 yr.
warranty.. Any suggestions now?

I would see if I could order online.

Check Sam's website for other stores around you. I just looked at their site and they are not listed as an item for delivery, so unless you have a local store with one left you will have to look at other stores.

I did mine like this too. It was from someone names Stephen Foley for $347.45 on Ebay. That was a final price, which was the best around at the time. I just looked and don't see him on there but I don't know his bidder # to try and find other stuff he might have. There are two from someone else that are in the bid process right now though. One is $290 with 2 days left and one is $313 with one day left. I see several 30" models, some buy it now deals, but didn't really look at them.

First Welcome to SMF, you found the right place to ask about smoking meat.

Where are you from?

Call your local Sams and get a corp headquarters ph number. Call them and tell them about SMF and hundreds of recommendations for the MES and you want to buy one and have it shipped to your local store. You won't know until you try what they may be willing to do. Sams is hurting for business, and most Sams clubs bend over backwards for their customers.

Also check the different stores within 100 miles, and see what is available.

Someone said they won't ship the MES with an online purchase. I bought my MES from Sams online and had to pay the freight, but that was 20 months ago.

Saw aa 40" SS with glass door at Academy in Austin, TX for $299.00. The hubs said my 30" black has to die, first.

By then, I may be considering an offset.

Warmer weather is here. Is it parked close enough to the lawn that the sprinklers might possibly help you with your problem?

We have it on our deck, which is about 8 feet off the ground. Actually, I don't see a problem with having both.
