Has anyone tried to smoke turkey hearts? For many years I have been purchasing smoked turkey hearts from a store in mid Michigan when I travel north. Last T day while I was smoking one turkey one on the rotis and one in the oven I took the 4 hearts brined them with the bird for the smoker and added them to the smoker with the bird and when they were done it was almost heaven. Hot from the smoker and I cannot explain the flavor. Once in a while my local grocery will get a few packages of hearts and gizzards but I can't seem to find a place to purchase raw hearts in quantity to smoke myself.
