Checking In....

First post and checking in to say hi. My name is Jason and I live in Findlay Ohio, 36 years old, married, no kids. I work as a reliability tech for the Dow Chemical Co. I have been wanting to get into smoking for about five years, just never made it to the top of the list. A friend recently bought a Chargriller and after a few uses decided he did not like cooking with it and wanted to toss it. My wife bought me the side fire box for Christmas and I have been playing with it ever since. Looking forward to posting and learning this new art.

Welcome Jason. Tons to learn, but don't be intimidated. If I can figure it out, anyone can. Great place here. Just ask a question and someone will most likely be along in a matter of minutes to give you some advice.

First off welcome Jason to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.
Here's a link to photobucket it's free and easy to download pictures. Then if your really new to smoking Look up the E-course.
It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

Welcome fellw Buckeye!

Nice to see another smoker from Ohio! I'm new myself -- but there are some veteran smokers here from our state. Lots of people here to learn from!

I'm getting ready to get a Char-Griller myself. If you haven't checked out the posts on the mods to that unit I'd suggest you do. They al make sense to me, and seem to help get the most out of the unit.

Like others have said...welcome!
