Hello. I live in Louisiana. I'm a firefighter,19 years, and also an RN-Paramedic. Right now I have a Brinkman electric smoker, but i'm looking to upgrade to a propane cabinet type, or maybe an MES. Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to SMF. I have a propane GOSM. Prpane can be used even when the power is out. MES you need a generator. Lots of folks on here have them so they arent bad.

Welcome to the SMF. We can alway use a firefighter to beat down all the grass fires we cause from tossing the coals out improperly.

Seriously though I say a silent prayer of thanks every once in a while for the Firefighters and Police and all the folks who help keep us safe when the chips are down and it counts most. PDT_Armataz_01_37.gif

Welcome to SMF! I echo the sincere thanks of my forum mates on the job you do. As far as gas vs. electric, I have a GOSM and like it alot, but there are many members here just as pleased with the MES.
