55gal Drum build, pt2 COMPLETED!!!!

Well, it is seasoning as we speak, and I am pumped. As some of you may have seen, I changed the plans a little from my previous on hand parts design. I am very glad I did. This is probably the most expensive drum smoker ever made. The only couple things left to do are polish the stack, and try to put on some flashing to seal the door edges. Overall it is working quite well.

And last but not least...during the season and a halfway installed baffle...

Even steven, well 5 degrees. It's no Lang, but it'll do!!!!PDT_Armataz_01_36.gif

NICE! That is how I was planning on doing mine. I just picked up 3 free 55 gallon drums. I just need to find the link for sizing of the sfb and the opening between the cooking chamber and the sfb. Let us know how it works! points.gif

very nice looks like it'll get the job done

Nice build,I'm going to steal the 2 sliders idea for mine! (evil chuckle here) BTW did you build the SFB or buy it? where did you get the legs?

Nice work pinkmeat, that looks really good man.

I cant quite tell from the pic but it looks like you used an exhaust flange for the stack, very cool idea if thats what it is. For the flashing, if you have another drum for cheap you can make the flashing/flange by marking out the size your door is and then measure 1" each side of the door mark and end up with a 2" rectangle that looks like a picture frame. Rivets or tack weld would make a very clean finished product. Not sure how that would work with your hinge setup but maybe a possible option.

Are your shelves stainless?

Great job and have fun smokin it up.
