Just a little Help!

I've read through most of the posts and then the sticky's, I just haven't been able to find my answer. On average, how long does it take to smoke these Fatties? I'm seriously considering putting my hand in this pot and trying them. Plus my partner and my sergeant are wanting to try them.

Any help is appreciated. I do know it's gonna depend on the size and fillings and what ever I just want to know on average.

HI,only done one Fatty,and it took about 3 1/2 hrs to get to 160.thats the temp I was told to aim for,I'm sure someone with more info on Fattys will be along soon.

The temp Brands posted - 160 F - is the perfect temp to shoot for. How long that takes is a different story. 3 1/2 hours is about right for an internal smoker temp = 225 - 250 F. Also depends on how fat it's stuffed, and what it's stuffed with (i.e. a cheese and egg filled fatty may cook faster than one stuffed with raw dough or more meats.

I have had smaller ones (1lb of meat plus some filling) get done in about 2 1/2 hours. Larger ones (2lbs of meat plus filling) have taken 3+ hours. Just keep an eye on temps and you will be fine

I have to admit, it's one thing I don't cook by temp. I usually put it on for 3.5 - 4 hours and it always turns out great. So, If you don't have a thermometer then shoot for this time. All fatties should be close to the same diameter so you should be OK with the 4 hr. recommendation. But, If you've got a thermo, use it. Let us know how it turns out. Thanks, Greg

Thats is approx cooking time, cook to temp not time!! 160 * and your good to go....If your using insides like taters make sure you pre cook them.
