Well since this looks to be a long night, I am now wondering about holding time for my butts. How long do you folks think I can hold them towel wrapped in the cooler? If they keep mis-behaving I was thinking about just holding them overnight and pulling in the morning. Then I could have a pulled pork breakfast while watching the Seahawks beat up on the Bills. What do you think?

i have personally held em for 11 hours, if you wrap em well, and put in a cooler.........the event we had late july..........butts got done at 7 in the morning.............they weren't supposed to be done till 2-3 in the afternoon.........supper was planned for 7 pm..........that afternoon.........when we took em out to pull, they was still too hot to handle..................

Thanks brother. Appreciate the advice. I'm still double stalled. Looks like breakfast sammies for us. Oh well, gotta love it....

They just get better the longer they wait, and are alot easier to pull.Never hurts to put a dial meat therm in one and leave it while they are wrapped. then ya can pop open the top of the cooler real quick and take a peek without unwrapping and cooling any. I wouldn't let them cool much below 145-150 without pulling and then eating or refridgerating.

Thanks guys, one of these day's I'll get the timing down so I can actually hold one for a few hours. These long smokes have been fighting me all summer.
