Hello all!!! Excited to have found this website. I must say my wife is too because my other forum I frequent is a watch forum and this is less expensive and she loves what comes out of the smoker.
I will let you know that I would not consider myself a newbie but am no pro either. I started with the cannister type smoker and have now just purchased the Char Grill professional with the side smoker box. Love it!
Had it for about a week and the first weekend I made some brisket, St Louis Ribs and chicken. Still have to get the hang of the ribs. Liked my rub and sauce I made but somewhere along the line i messed up. I am sure I will figure it out with all the incredible advice I have already found on this site. Just amazing all the knowledge here. I am hooked on smoking I must say!. I just finished 2 7.5 pound turkey breast today. I brined them last night in gallon of water gallon of apple juice, 2 cups salt, 1 cup sugar little cinnamon and a vanilla bean. Stuffed them with onion garlic carrot celary and fresh herbs. Basted with butter and chilli powder mix.
Came out great.
Well exited to read more on here and look forward to sharing experiences along the way. I will have pics soon of my experiments!
