I posted a few days back on guidance for a new gasser, and it came down to the GOSM deluxe and the Smoke Hollow 38". Well, finding a GOSM anywhere for delivery to STL in teh next 3-6 weeks is about impossible and I'm impatient, so I decided to go with the smoke hollow.
I'm glad I did, but I didn't get the one I was hoping for! I found some weirdness on their website regarding the smokers they offer- there seemed to be one not listed on the site that they sold accessories for, so I called them. A guy named Chad talked to me and mentioned that they offer a 44" model with 2 doors and is basically a bigger, upgraded version of the 38" they sell on the site. They don't really offer it on the site because they only sell it through Gander Mtn, and it costs enough to ship that most people don't want to pay the extra. It's a 2-door model with an additional shelf- space I was really looking for.
Long story short, after a few days of talking to Chad and receiving emailed pics of the smoker and more details on the construction of this device, I ordered it yesterday. Of course, I didn't get it for nothing, but I think it was a fair deal. He said he couldn't sell it for less than Gander, as they won't undercut their partners, so I agreed with that. I also covered the difference in shipping.
So, a fair deal from a good company with beyond outstanding service.
I really can't say enough good things about them- if the smoker's as good as the service, I'm gonna make a fortune on the meat I sell...
