Good morning all,

I've been smoking my own meats for about a year now and have quickly gotten hooked on the endless options of meats, recipes, etc. to play around with. I am using one of the Cabela's 40 inch digital smokers by Masterbuilt to learn on. Eventually, I think I would like to use a stick burner, but my skill level and budget aren't ready for that yet. So far I've done several chickens, country ribs, spare ribs, baby back ribs, pulled pork, turkey breast, beans, etc. I am now wanting to get into jerky and sausages, mostly using deer meat.

I've been gathering information from the forum for about a year now.  Most of what I know about smoking has come from the information you all have provided on SMF, and for that I am grateful. I look forwarding to learning more and more and eventually being able to pass that along to others as I become more knowledgeable.

Thank you!

Glad to have you on board chiefs23. When I started out with my GOSM, Al Gore hadn't invented the inter-web yet so there was a lot of trail and error in learning to smoke meats and stuff. Then a fellow by the name of TulsaJeff started a page on Yahoo for GOSM users which grew up to be the Smoking Meat Forums that you see today.

Enjoy!
