Hi everyone,

My name is Michael and I'm from the Charlotte area! I've been reading the forums for a while, but new to participating!

I'm an amateur backyard cook, who loves to make smoked BBQ for friends and family!

In addition to cooking, I've been making my own BBQ sauce, rub and pig injection. The commercial sauces and rubs are good, but I wanted something specific to my taste! I'm actually in the process of getting the sauce bottled and out on the market. I've received the nutrition label, so I need to get a UPC and find a good cannery. I realize BBQ sauce won't make me rich, but it's a great way to spend time with the hobby I love!

I've been cooking for about 5-6 years now. I now have a Brinkman Vertical Trailmaster, which was my first stick burner! It took me a while to learn its personality, but now we're best of friends! I want to eventually move up to a larger smoker so I can make more. I would like to eventually cater and maybe have a truck, as I really don't want to be tied down to a restaurant! I love the idea of staying open until the food's gone and making my own hours!

Anyway, I'm still learning and working toward the closest thing to perfection as I can get! I look forward to learning from all y'all!

Welcome to the forum!  That smoker is too clean for cooking 5-6 years on it!
