Hi all - I am from upstate New York just outside of Albany. I have  been researching offset smokers for a bit now. I am going to build a reverse flow for my first build. I am a pipe fabricator and welder. I have two boys. My youngest son has always enjoyed cooking. He has been going to college for culinary and went to Nashville, TN for his externship. When he was there he saw a lot of BBQ. He called me one day and asked "do you think we can build a smoker?" I said I believe we can, but it won't happen over night. We will take our time. I am trying to do this on a small budget, so I am waiting for material that I can gather here and there. I have a 24" Std. Wt. pipe I am waiting for from a demolition project at work. Should be soon. I have noticed here that there are many people with experience. That is exciting to me because I do know how to weld but I will need help in the design. My son and I look forward to any and all help we can get.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum from a hot sunny day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.

You are at the right place

Thank you for the warm welcome. Kajunpig, the pipe was used for testing air compressors. This particular test pipe only saw compressed air.

Thank You kajunpig...I'll let you know when I can get going on this build.
