When I search for a particular item and find it, often the item is not to be found in the store.  Many times, the site indicates that a specific store has 45 or whatever in stock.  Then when I go to the store, there are none there and the clerks have no clue.  Best recent example is the Costo site.  I bought a brisket there today and there were plenty in the cooler.  A search for brisket on their web site displays an amazing array of Wagyu beef, starting with a 13 lbs roast for about $1,200.  Nothing about brisket shows up.  And I seriously doubt they have the Wagyu in stock.

Frustrating to say the least.  And it isn't just Costco.

yeah  some companies websites  and the store  inventory are wildly inaccurate ive been burned a couple times like that myself.i always check the website then the inventory then call the store to make sure they have it in stock before i drive 45 min to find out "oh the website isnt accurate"

Yeah it sucks.  You basically have to call and ensure it's there before you make the visit.

One place that has the right idea is Home Depot.  Not only can you check and it show up onsite but you can use their free online service when buying to order the items that are listed in stock in store and someone in the store will go and gather it all and have it for you at the service desk and you will get an alert when your whole order is ready to pick up or you can schedule a time to pick it up!

This beats having to wander around the store, if something isn't their they let you know so you don't have to waste your time showing up, and it's super convenient!

I think Walmart is trying something similar but I despise Walmart and know them so well (worked for them for a few years while in college) that I don't trust that the company or employees know how to wipe there ass correctly much less find and grab the correct stuff off a shelf for me hahahha.

Man am I scarred for life having worked for that abomination of a company for like 3+ years of my life
