I was browsing through the threads the other day when I noticed a thread about showing your smoker. It was interesting seeing the many different smokers that we use. And judging from the comments and views it was very popular, I know I enjoyed it. Then I noticed another showing someone's smoking area he had set up with a bar and shelter http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/244250/our-backyard-smoker-bbq-bar, etc. It too was interesting. So, I thought, "Why not a thread about everyone's smoking area setup?" Here's mine, show me yours:
All of the lumber (except for OSB, plywood and treated lumber) for my smoking area (AKA the Cook House) was cut from trees I harvested on my woodlot and sawn by me on a portable band sawmill. The framing was pine and all interior and exterior siding was poplar. I thought it turned out pretty good for someone who has never built anything larger than a doghouse.
That's my house in the background. Getting ready for Mother's Day cookout.
It was my secret recipe: Fajita Spatchcock Chicken.
View out the front.
Front entrance.
Interior view. There's a fish frying station, deep sink and a bathroom on the right.
Seating for up to 17 people inside, 12 outside.
It was just finished a couple of months ago. Looking forward to some summer cookouts with family and friends.
