I'm in the market for a new smoker and came across this one. The firebox is on the back and has 3 pipes that go to the top of the barrel. Have any of you seen used this design. Do you think the smoke would circulate in the barrel or just go straight out from the top? What do y'all think?

The Horseshoe handles and the cattle brand design cutout welded to the top, kind of tell me the other side of the story.

IMO, If the price is RIGHT?  You could block off the 3 pipe holes from inside the firebox, then cut yourself a rectangular hole on the backside of the firebox into the smoker.

If you're rectangular hole was 3"high X 24" long ? I would also extend a 3"x24"x3"  U shaped channel welded onto the top of your hole inside the smoker facing down, extending out a 1/3 of the distance across. So if it's 36" across your smoker ? I would extend your U shape channel out 12".

That should help with a little more even smoke flow and help deflect any possible flames from running right up the back of the inside of the smoker. It's all about the even flow of the Thin Blue Smoke!  Hint! Hint!

Make sure you have an adjustable air intake, maybe that is what the Horseshoe handle thing is all about on the end?

Keep us all posted, Later Mike
