Beef Dino Ribs to kick the weekend off

Saw these on sale at Walmart and had to give it a shot. I don't think I have ever had beef ribs to begin with so I was excited to smoke them up.

Trimmed them up and seasoned with Jack Daniels Beef rub and wrapped them up in the fridge for 5 hours.

Got the smoker ready with a mix of Cherry and Jack Daniels wood chips. Spritzed down with apple juice and a splash of Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire and into the smoker at 225.

While those were smoking I boiled up some eggs and out them on my new Char-Broil grill to cold smoke with Mesquite wood chips in the char broil tube.

They turned out to be amazing deviled eggs.

Spritzed the ribs down on the hour to keep them moist.

After 5 1/2 hours they were ready to be pulled. Wrapped them in foil while I finished up the scalloped potatoes and green beans.

Not much meat but they were really good!

Wow, those ribs look awesome. I have to try some eggs, I have never done eggs but I really like regular hard boiled. Thanks for the idea!

Awesome looking ribs! And yes, smoked eggs is where it's at! I don't think I'll ever have plain potato salad again!

Also, those are probably the best looking ribs I have ever seen come from a Walmart. I always look at them for fun and all they are is bones at my Walmart.

Good looking ribs. I'll have to try the eggs. I'm doing beef ribs too for Denver Bronco game.

I will never look at hard boiled eggs the same way again after having them smoked. I have made the deviled eggs and egg salad sandwich but I will have to try potato salad, thanks Betaboy! The ribs were light on the meat compared to ones I saw at Publix but they were good for my first attempt, I will have them again for sure. Thanks for the points, back at ya!

I did like them as leftovers too, they made a nice BBQ Beef sammie!

In case anyone is interested this is what I used for the Deviled Eggs;

  • 1 dozen extra large eggs

  • 1/2 cup Miracle Whip or Mayo

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun Spice

  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • Paprika to serve as a topping

Smoked deviled eggs are another!

As always with potato salad, flavors meld and always tastes better the next day. This is VERY true with smoked eggs in there. A few hours in the fridge is good, but the next day every bite is smokey YUM! :drool
