Hello my name is Nick and I just recently bought a Masterbuilt Electric 30 Inch Digital smoker. The only thing I've done so far is preseason the smoker but I'm going to attempt smoking chicken wings tonight, so it will be the first time for trying my hand at smoking food. I have a few questions about the smoker and what exactly to do with the water pan and whether or not I should soak my wood chips in water first.
Do you always put water in the water pan when smoking food?
Should I always soak my wood chips in water before putting them in the smoker?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.
