As some of you know, I have complained since day one that my Maze with Todds Pellets won't stay lit part of the time and doesn't put out enough smoke when it accidentally stays lit, no matter what adjustments I make. I have tried everything short of installing the "Mailbox Setup". In order to get enough smoke as well as keep it it lit, I have been forced to use the tube which seems to work ok.

So, my Maze became useless ........ until today. I bought a new Weber Charcoal Grill to cook hamburgers, sear steaks, etc. I had one previously for years, but gave it away when I bought my Masterbuilt Smoker, but missed it so bought another.

So with my new Grill, I put the Maze to use. I soaked some Mesquite Wood Chips and then put them in the Maze and sat the Maze on top of the hot coals and "voila" ....it worked to perfection. Way better than wrapping the wood chips in foil and punching holes in it and way better than those gadgets they make for smoking the wood chips.

The next time, I may try pellets in place of the wood chips, but they may go up in smoke too fast as you can't soak them in water. Then again, I may try lining the bottom of the Maze with foil leaving all of the other holes open. Anyhow, I found a use for my Maze.
