Saturday Afternoon Lunch

Thread Starter

Had some time before my night job, so I decided to make some lunch. The meal consisted of smoked chicken wings, smoked corn on the cob, and smoked peaches. I was very pleased with the results.

The chicken wings were coated in my poultry dry rub. Then I added a thin layer of homemade barbeque sauce.

The corn was wrapped in foil and smoked for 1 1/2 hours.

The peaches were seeded. I spooned some apricot preserves in the areas where the seeds were originally located. Then I drizzled honey and brown sugar on them. Unfortunately, the peaches were not from Georgia and were smaller in size.

Here is a pic. Sorry the quality is so bad.

Hey Steve.  Looks good.  I'm not much on wings, but those peaches look and sound really great.  Nice job.

BTW, did you ever post more on that gator smoke???

Hey Steve!

Hope you won't take my post the wrong way, just trying to help.

 although it could be that I need help.

What temp did you smoke the wings and to what IT?

I realize sometimes pics can be deceiving but on my computer your wings don't look like they're cooked to 165° IT.

Also wondering about the color... were the wings overlapping each other? Why the two tone?

You say you smoked the corn wrapped in foil... I would think very little if any smoke can penetrate aluminum foil?

I'll have to try smoking some peaches down the road.

The wings DEFINITELY could have been smoked a little longer. Yes, the two-tone was a result of the wings laying on top of each other. Appreciate the feedback!!!

Thanks for being understanding!

I don't know, maybe you just misspoke about smoking the corn?

I never tried smoking corn that way, so I don't know for sure what the end result would be...did you get any smoke on the corn?
