My MES Gen1 mods in action

Already posted these pics + more in the fish forum but felt the following would be good to share here in the Electric Smoker forum as well.

For my main application being fish, the stock MES racks are just way too heavy and do not have a small mesh surface that I really prefer for fish, especially small pieces. Had to add the side support rails since the racks were not wide enough. Had to also bend up the back side since these racks were to long in depth.

Here's the heating element flipped over to the center of the chamber giving a much more uniformed distribution of heat.

Here we see the Auber PID and the mailbox mod in action. Both worked perfectly.

The one pictured is a WS-1500ELPM which can take a max load of 1800 watts.  It is a slightly older model but for the price I paid :yahoo:,  I couldn't say no.  In fact I just acquired another one.   I also have a WS-1200CPM which is my first one that I obtained.  It have a max load of 1400 watts.   This last weekend, I had both big chief smokers being controlled by two Aubers.  So much freakin' easier.  Just crank their stats up to full, plug them into the back of the Auber and go take a nap.
