Upgrading my brinkmann trailmaster offset!

Dont mind my dirty basement... So I had to pull my firebox on my smoker so I could sand her down and paint her... while I was at it, I decided to do some mods to my smoker. I bought the baffle plate from bbq smoker mods and their gasket and latch kit. Almost done with everything! Once I get it back together, gonna clean the smoker, re-season and start smoking some meat in about 30 degree weather!

Nobody is following this thread but I'm gonna post it anyways. Finished my mods and painted my firebox. Time to clean her up and start smoking!

Looks good Dmeyer24, nice work. I keep my firebox oiled up with Pam to keep the rust away.

I didn't realize you could buy baffle plates.

 

I guess I need to get out more.

Yes, bbqsmokermods.com is where I found them. Pretty slick setup. Yet to cook with it but I will let ya know how it works!

Baffle plate is working like a charm. Im now down to a 2 degree difference from side to side. Almost done seasoning.

So the plate works pretty good, then? How about smoke density in the chamber? Did you modify the stack hole to be lower, closer or below grate level?

First cook plate didnt work that well. I drilled holes in the side of the plate and my cooking chamber and bolted the plate in place. Now it works really good. Seems without bolting it, heat gets above the plate and isn't forced underneath it. Bolting it to the side of the cooking chamber is a must!

If you look on the right hand side of the plate where the 45 goes up and meets with the sidewall of the cooking chamber, you will see some pre-drilled holes. I drilled holes through the side of my cooking chamber and then bolted the plate into place. Worked great!
