Hey everyone, first I'd like to say thanks in advance, I've been viewing this site for a few weeks before I finally joined. I just got my first smoker yesterday (Webber smokey mountain 18.5"). I'm sure I'll be picking your brains for a while now. I've been watching my dad BBQ for 10 years or so, so I'm excited to get started. I started at 6am this morning with a pork butt. Little confusing at first trying to get my temp dialed in but after 8 hours I've got it at 250-260 degrees pretty steady. Also throwing some ribs in as well. Anyway... Just introducing myself here in Minnesota, thanks for adding me. Also the 420 in the name is a smoking pun, not getting high over here lol, figured I'd throw that in there...

Welcome to the group!  Glad ya joined us.  Congrats on the WSM purchase, I threw on some ribs a couple of hours ago.  Letting them smoke for 5 hrs between 225 and 250.  Hope you enjoy the WSM as much as I do!

Welcome to the Forum, from Central Indiana! Good luck with the butt and ribs. I'm sure they'll get eaten, whatever happens.
As a child of the sixties, I know about "smoking", but 420 went right over my head....
Glad to have you with us![emoji]128522[/emoji]

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from a cloudy and chilly day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
