Is this thing seasoned yet??!?

Howdy Fellow Smokers,
Adam here from San Diego, CA and I’m incredibly excited to be joining this great community!  Long time BBQ lover - but decided to give up the propane grill about 2 years ago for my first Weber OTG.  I’ve not looked back since - just can’t beat the flavor (and the fun and beer time!).  I’m brand new to smoking and this week picked up a 22.5" WSM!  It’s official - I now have more BBQs than children (and my wife doesn’t love that the BBQs and bags of charcoal leave no room for her to park in the garage)!
So, without further ado, meet Smokey (the WSM) & the Bandit (black OTG) and Oscar (green OTG).  As you can see, I wasted no time “overhaulin” the WSM and added wheels and a lid hinge and I’m currently in the seasoning process.  I look forward to learning tons from my fellow smoking brethren.  Have a great smoking weekend!

Nice set up now for some good ol Q-view,  I was stationed on the USS Midway, and was part of the decommissioning crew I have part of the landing cable they gave me on a plaque. Met my wife in San Diego she was raised there, till I took her north with me when I got out.

Good luck

When I recently seasoned my 18.5" WSM, I ran it with the vents fully open with KBB until it burned out. Second time, I had a few lbs of brisket fat on the top grill, and kept the WSM around 300 for 6 hours. The third run, again with a few lbs of brisket fat on the top grill, I ran it at 250 for 7 hours.

Only difference, I installed a gasket kit from the beginning.

From that point on, I haven't looked back.

Have fun!!!
