Take about 5 large kitchen, light anywhere, matches. Take about 12" of string and tie a knot in the end. Lay the string in the middle of the matches, and with another piece of string tie the matched then all together. Pull the unknoted end of the string till the knot hangs and holds on the end of the bundle of matches.
Then tal the end of the string and dunk the matches in hot pariffin, hang and alow to cool. Wrap the excess string around the bundle of waxed matches. When you need a waterproof lighter, uncoil the wrapped string, then lay your fire above it.
Light the string when ready, the string is like a fuse, when it gets to the match heads they combust and the wax and wood will burn long enough to start your fire. Then you can blow on it, get a hair dryer, or a leaf blower and go to town.
They never get old, make a couple a dozen at atime and you can light 'em ever after a couple a days underwater.
