Hi! My name is Jewell. I just got myself a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker for an early Christmas present and have had real good success with it. My husband said that he may not want EVERY piece of meat smoked but I told him it's just going to be that way for a while. I've been making my own bacon with a charcoal horizontal barrel smoker but it wouldn't hold the heat in real cold weather. I thought the insulated MES would be good for that. My bacon is curing now--haven't smoked it yet. I'm looking forward to reading everyone's enlightening posts. Cheers!

Welcome to the board! Use the Search to look up your smoker model and its quirks and capabilities.

I know what you mean about that "everything's going to be smoked" view. Sometimes you just want to stare at the sun.

Welcome from Canada, Jewell!
