Hello everyone?  Looking to build a beginner smoker to start learning on and progress into something bigger later on next year.

Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.
Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!

Thanks Wolf.  Been doing lots of reading as of late.  Been started playing around with smoking a few times on the weber but nothing really ever came out right.  Wife is wanting to kill me again because I am starting something else LOL.

Just tell the wife that life is a learning experance and that BBQ is the next sage in your life, once learned she will reap the benifits of your knowledge!! Then when she looks at you like you have lost that last small contact that you had with reality just smile and say I LOVE YOU HONEY!! LOL

Oh she is starting to get the picture.  Out of boredom a buddy of mine has a crappy gas grill that doesn't get hot hardly at all anymore.  Went there the other night and threw some apple in a cast iron pan for an pork loin.  Everyone wanted it cooked to an internal of 170, which is find by me, but I was shooting for 150.  Turned out fantastic and she actually started to come around after that.  Now trying to explain the reason why I need a smoke house and a good BBQ grill is something entirely different LOL
